The Eloping Dress

Betabrand, a San Francisco-based online retailer, recently released a new dress for brides who want to get married as soon as possible and don't want to spend a lot of money.  The dress is appropriately called, Elope Dress.

For $170, the dress features a cotton lace overlap and comes with three removable sashes.  The dress can be worn multiple different ways which makes the dress multifunctional!

The Weekday Wedding Trend

One of the newest wedding trends among brides and grooms to be is to have the ceremony and reception fall on a weedDAY as opposed to a weekEND.  A great way to cut back on some of the initial costs of planning a wedding is to plan the special event to fall on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday since most venue prices peak on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.

Venue availability also tends to be wide open during the week since most weddings, and other events, are scheduled towards the end of the week.

This is one of the easiest ways for a couple to stay within budget and book that venue that seemed to exist only in dreams.

Florists, lighting, rentals and cakes will also all generally be less expensive Monday through Thursday.  Additionally, with some savvy planning, your weekday wedding could be followed by a holiday so you can take advantage of a venue's extended hours!

A Very Zen Wedding

Leslie Rowe Events had the honor of helping a bride-to-be plan the perfect zen wedding.  Held on a cool January day, the wedding took place at the Redland Koi Gardens owned by Michael and Suzy Cruz.  The ceremony was a mixture of Jewish and Middle Eastern traditions.

Zen Gardens conducted a fabulous tea ceremony while Tracy Fleming of Glaser Organic Farms provided the raw vegan menu.

The main course consisted of varieties of cheese with thick honey, zucchini pasta made from dehydrated zucchini, dehydrated mushrooms stuffed with bean sprout almond patties, nut balls, nori rolls and multiple salads.

The wedding cake was a delicious fruit pie topped with vegan vanilla ice cream made from a cashew nut base.

The bride's vintage dress was complemented by the beautifully simple atmosphere.

Antonio Somma’s 50th Birthday Celebration

On December 6, Antonio Sommo celebrated his 50th birthday with 80 of his closest friends and family. The party was set on the breathtaking grounds of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Guests were flown in from all over the world from as far away as the Middle East.  Leslie Rowe Events orchestrated the magnificent design and decor while the lighting and fabric was provided by JM Design Lighting & Fabric.  The delicate flower arrangements created by Parrish Designs finely complimented the Asian inspired style of the Mandarin.

The natural and comfortable atmosphere was enhanced by the driftwood centerpieces and couch seating areas placed around the beach.  Guests danced the night way with music provided by Sounds Good, while the evening was photographed by Jeff Kolodny and videography was covered by N.Y. Style Video.

At the end of this wonderful evening the guests' attention was stolen by the bold firewords display over the ocean, provided by Fire Power. A great time was had by all!
